I am a texture girl! I love me some texture and dimension. I don’t think I’ve ever made a one-layer card. I need the feel of bumps and layers. So when PinkFresh Studio make texture the focus of their November Challenge, I was ready!

I chose to use the Whimsical Blooms collection for my card. (I’ve listed all the products used below, if you’re interested.) I really like how PinkFresh Studio creates products that can be used together. The Whimsical Blooms suite has a stamp set, die set, layering stencils and washi tape, all of which can be used individually, or together. For my card, I used the stamp set, dies and layering stencils.
I’m not a good coloring person, so layering stencils are da bomb! First, I gold embossed the image onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, then used the layering stencils to color the images. I chose to use PinkFresh inks: Evergreen, Raspberry Bliss and Candied Apple. It’s amazing how much depth you can get from inking with stencils.
I created a circle using the PinkFresh Studio Folk Edge Circles Dies and layered the circle over a circle of vellum. Then I arranged my flowers in the center of the circle. Instant focal point! That’s the moment I decided to make this an easel card!
To create my easel card, I adapted one of the cards from Jennifer McGuire’s Unique Easel Cards blog post. She is my technique guru and the best of the best! Her video explains exactly how to create an easel card, so check it out!
I used the Intricate Stitched Ovals cover plate for the background of the card, and placed the circle with the flowers in the center. My sentiment is from the PinkFresh Studio Fancy Script Words collection. The “Thanks for Everything” strip is from Simon Says Stamp Grateful Sentiment Strips.
I hope you are inspired to give the PinkFresh November Challenge a try! Happy crafting!
