Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog. I’m so happy you chose to join me today!
The Season is a coming, and so many card and scrapbook companies are already coming out with products and ideas for Christmas. I’m a huge fan of Spellbinders, so imagine my surprise and delight when they contacted me and asked if I’d be willing to create with some of their holiday products. I just couldn’t refuse! So today I’m going to share a couple of cards I made with Spellbinder’s Tinsel Time collection, available today. I hope you enjoy them.

Dancing Deer
Oh what fun, as the song goes. I so enjoyed playing with Spellbinders newest release, Dancin’ Deer Etched Dies. There are three dancing images available: Santa, Snowman and a Deer. I opted to work with the deer since I just love how cute they are.
The legs on these dancing images are free moving, which means they will move freely on the card. Here’s another view of this card with the legs in a different position.
There are so many possibilities. I combined this card with one of the Starburst Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, also new from Spellbinders. I loved the starburst effect, especially with the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll-Aura that I chose to use. This is probably my favorite, favorite foil color. It can be a little tricky to work with, but the effort is worth it. I love the holographic, gold shine it gives.
On this card, I used the reverse foil option with the Essential Glimmer Solid Rectangle Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. To do this, foil the Starburst Glimmer plate on a piece of cardstock. When you remove the foil, don’t throw it away! Use it with the solid plate to foil the reverse design on a new piece of cardstock. It’s a brilliant concept and I love not having to throw away the reversed foiled images. Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System works beautifully with this technique.
I finished off the card with some new holiday sequins, a sentiment from Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and a bloom from the Holiday Blooms Etched Dies, both of which were released in July. I love how so many of Spellbinders’ sets work together. It makes for great versatility.
Peek-a-Boo Deer
Now, the moment I saw the Holiday Blooms Etched Dies last month, I knew I had to have them to use the Dancin’ Deer Etched Dies and another foil plate from the August release, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. I had the design all planned in my head! I stalked the website until they went on sale and bought them immediately.
Both the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Holiday Blooms Etched Dies are quickly becoming favorites of mine. I love all the different flowers and clusters that can be created, and the foiled background is just stunning. You’ll see both of these in another card that I post later this week.
For this card, I had the idea of having my deer peeking out of a cluster of flowers. I had so much fun cutting the pieces from different colors of cardstock, arranging the flower cluster, and putting the deer in the middle. I used the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll-Prism for my foiling, both the plate and sentiment, along with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I really like the way the silver background highlights the flowers.
I’ve been collecting various hot foil sentiments from Spellbinders over the past year and this particular sentiment comes from Yana’s Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. I love die cut sentiments, and Yana’s sentiment collections are fabulous – the perfect little greeting to add to a card.
So much fun from Spellbinders. Check back in a few days for more cards with the Spellbinders Tinsel Time collection. Thanks for visiting; Happy Crafting!
